… thirst for you …

The prayer we lift up after the homeschool conference leads to a string of confession, of one’s heart of self examination, of the position of my spirit in the Lord.  It takes immense energy to summon up to pray out loud.  To address all the blanks of the future, my disobedience, my unwillingess, my selfish desire.  There, all there, Lord, not that You need me to tell you what is in my heart, yet it’s become my offering to allow all the muck to evaporate into the open air.  To line up all these ugly ducklings in the row and to visually align them along with Your will.

Does this one match?

No?

What about this one?

Yes or No?   Yes?

In the confinement of that tight space, I allow everything spilling out in the open air.  The space between us both is the clutched fists, which is our togetherness.  I lay all these out, heard by the one who sits next to me, and by my heavenly Father.  I lay face down, torso completely flattened on the ground, poriously opened, to wait for His answer and direction.  Yes, that’s the thirst and hunger He longs for us to work up, to yearn for that appetite anytime and anywhere.

Proverbs 2:1-11

My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding—
indeed, if you call out for insight
    and cry aloud for understanding,
and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.
For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.

Then you will understand what is right and just
    and fair—every good path.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
11 Discretion will protect you,
    and understanding will guard you.

You say to us seek Your face
Our hearts reply, Your face we seek
And come teach us Lord, reveal Your ways
Anoint us for the greater things

We have gathered with one thirst and hunger
We’re here to drink of glory and wonder,
Here to cry out
Come and fill this place
Come and fill this place

And our single wish, our sole desire
To gaze upon Your beauty God
We will not rest, nor will we cease
Till with our eyes, Your face we see

We have gathered with one thirst and hunger
We’re here to drink of glory and wonder,
Here to cry out
Come and fill this place, this place
Come and fill this place, this place

We wait for You to come and show Your glory here today.
We wait for You, God we wait for You!

Alleluia come, Alleluia come, Alleluia come, Alleluia come!
We wait for You to come and show Your glory here today!
